I was in front of my computer, when I jumped up and said;
It's nice Today, let's go and shoot the Barred Owl. I haven't seen it for about a month now.
So we went and surely enough I immediately found the Owl.
My wife's comment was; hey I did not know that you were getting emails from Owls.

nice light and good perch, owl looks a bit soft and lacking in feather details.

Thanks Arash.
You are absolutely right.
I looked at all the pictures and all look soft with and without the 1.4x extender.
I just did the microadjustment using LensAlign. I'm very dissapointed.
Unfortunately being winter, I was restricted with the distance to about 7-8 meters inside.
I guess I'll just disable the microadjustment values for the time being and will do it when the weather allows me to use the proper distance somewhere outside.
(20-25 times the focal length.)
Here is one that might look better with some extra sharpening.
You've been doing well with the owls this year Karl. Both reposts look better both for sharpening and losing the tree on the right (as viewed)

Very nice look back pose, the IQ and crop in Arash's rework is a drastic improvement fro the original... TFS Karl!

Hi Karl, you are so fortunate to have captured all these owls that you have posting. Im amazed how they can turn their heads literally 180 deg. I like the softer blue of the BG.

How fortunate to have this guy at your beck and call. Nicely captured. Second shot is better, and Arash's repost really helps.
