This image was created at Fortuna Bay, South Georgia with the Canon 300mm f/2.8L IS lens, the 2X III TC, and the EOS-1D MIV. ISO 200. Evaluative metering +2/3 stop: 1/320 sec. at f/11 in Av Mode. I was working blind as the rear LCDs on both of my Mark IVs failed after a drenching rain.... But the EXP was perfect :S3:.

Hi Artie...the detail in the yellow feathers is awesome but the top right and center of the image just seems to fade to nothing...wish there were something there

Artie, I love the up-close look, it has created a wonderful abstract. Great job nailing the exposure w/o the use of the LCD screen.

Artie, the colors and details are awesome. Looks like the 300 2.8 work very well. I am thinking of renting that or the 400 2.8 lens before heading out in October.

Thanks Indranil, The 300 f/2.8 was perfect for the trip. I rarely ever was wishing for a longer lens and it was easy to use in the Zodiacs.

Artie, this is a beautiful capture. The subtle gradations of gold and yellows...the marvelous textures...the black lines drawing your eye through the image, the overall warmth of the image...wow. I really like this.
