EOS-1D Mk IV, 500mm f/4 + 1.4xII, 1/1250, f/11, ISO 800
Full Frame
Photographed about 2 weeks ago in Rockport, MA.
It was quite cold and windy and there was a large group of Sanderlings intermixed with some Dunlins and Purple Sandpipers taking refuge on the rocks.
Looking forward to your comments and critiques!

Beautifully exposed and lovely overall simplicity. I like the rocks but find the one on the left a bit heavy and my eye is drawn there. Beautiful BG as well.

I feel that a tighter more intimate crop would work better. Love the bird and the rocky perch.

Mike I think you nailed the sanderling but I have to agree the immediate surroundings are relatively speaking dominating the shot, the rocks keep pulling my eye from the super shot of the sanderling.

Lovely Dreamy image. Agree with Gail on the rock on the left looking heavy. Otherwise very beautiful.

Lovely shot sharp and outstanding color; rock doesnt bother me too much but you could crop from top and left to reduce its impact.
outstanding really

Mike, beautiful shot. I can see what the others are saying...but personally I am liking the wider view. something different. details, shooting angle, light angle, exposure...liked everything here. Well done.
