It does brighten my day...literally!!:S3: It looks quite happy too! Is this a captive bird? Looks like it is munching on an avocado (which I do wish was not visible)? How big a crop...I'm wondering because you got lots of DOF to cover the tip of the bill and the eyes which would suggest either a very small aperture or a large crop from standing further away...
Nice one Richard. Tough shooting conditions with bright back light well handeld.
Hi
was a fun post really , the hook like claw amused me.
was a fairly tight crop, shot it a bit tight at the bottom which is as shown.
The food is in fact an Indian Beach Almond which they go nuts for! Perhaps I will clone it out.
actually shot looks way better here I will reprocess for web and see.
This is a WILD bird; occasionally you can get close enough to strooke them; dont they can do a lot of dmage. I was once bitten by one
in Corcavado National Park - it was semi wild and I could have easily lost a fonger!!
what a nice photo richard i think daniel thought if it was a avocado the reason for it not to be seen is that avocados are deadly to parrots i could be wrong on he's meaning
I didn't know avocados were deadly to parrots...good to know!! As a young boy my neighbor had a pet macaw (that she had brought from her native French Guiana). Quite friendly, but I also witnessed someone get bit on the finger, barely any contact but the skin was pierced anyhow!
Thanks for the additional info Richard!:S3:
