Lots of brant on Long Island this year. This one was standing on a submerged rock, taking a break from foraging. There was a tiny piece of moss covered rock in the lrc which I ejected, otherwise, slight crop, levels adjustment, and nik detail extractor minimally applied to bring out a bit more feather detail. I hope to spend more time with these birds this winter.
This is a pleasing image Grace. If you can get down close to eye level it would make it more intimate. </SPAN>
There are usually a lot of brant here in the winter. If you go to Jamaica Bay there are hundreds of snow geese. From the West Pond you will be able to get them in flight, at the East Pond you might get them wading if you are lucky and have plenty of reach. They can be spectacular at sunset.</SPAN>

Grace, sharp and the exposure looks good. Nice palette of color, since water birds are my favorite. Very nice image.

Thank you Morris. Yes, I like eye level shots too. This group was restless, hence the 2x and the shooting angle. Lots of brant hanging out alot closer to me than Jam Bay.

Hi Grace, excellent exposure on the blacks, good HA, sharp, and the droplets add interest. Could you have got any lower? :w3
