This fellow flew over our heads as we were in a boat exploring the Cano Negro, Costa Rica last spring. 75% FF. If I had been quicker I might have backed off the ISO a tad and avoided some of the underwing noise.
D7000, 80-400 VR @ 360mm, ISO 1000, 1/4000s @ f/6.3, +1.0 EV. HH from boat.
Very nice pose and BG. I don't know if its my eyes but I find the head and feet soft. You are right in your critique about the noise. Did you try some NR?

Thanks Gail. I could probably sharpen the head, and certainly the feet, a bit more. I did try a selective, slight pass of Topaz DeNoise on the underwing but was afraid of softening it if I did any more.Quote:

I'm on Gails boat as well Bill. It looks like you may have gotten some motion blur on the face. I do like the flight angle.
