I used Fractalius sketch 5, then reduced the opacity.
I cropped with the intent of the horse & rider nearly exiting the frame in order to show the trail of dust.

Nancy,
Wonderful feeling of motion. Your processing enhanced the feel of this pic!
Love the composition & processing, Nancy, and agree it has a great sense of motion. Like the colors, dust trail and cowboy look to this very much. Very minor, but wishing for just a little more detail in face of both rider and horse. Nice work!
I like what you did with this, Nancy. The placement of the horse and rider is effective in not only showing the cloud of dust but in adding to the feel of motion that the Fractalius effect produced. The fact that they're already that far across the frame suggests to me, at least, that they're moving rapidly. I like the color intensity and the contrasting warm and cool colors. This might put me in the minority, but the lack of detail in the faces seems consistent with the motion and with the overall look of the image, so it may be a good thing.
Beautiful composition, Nancy. I like your use of fract... it gives a nice sense of motion. Very nice framing and certainly convey your intent.
Great sense of motion here, Nancy. Love the comp and the colors!
Nice idea to add the fractalius effect to this. Nice sense of motion. Maybe a slight rotation? Nice job Nancy and this is perfect for the theme!:S3:
Thank you everyone. I tried quite a few filters and combinations before I settled upon this one. As Dennis comments "the lack of detail in the faces seems consistent with the motion and with the overall look of the image, so it may be a good thing." Since I have no more detail I hoped it would be o.k. as is!
Looking at it again, I think it is just fine as is, Nancy. Well done!
Hi Nancy, love the use of fractalius on this one :S3:
I like the sense of motion and open country. I would prefer less filtering.
