Congratulations Brendan!!!
Spent some time with the seals down at La Jolla last week. These guys are so much fun to watch - loved the expression on this one. Converted to B&W, sharpened, Topaz Adjust - Etching, Topaz detail to soften, then added warming photo filter. Posted some more images in the Wildlife forum.

Were you at the La Jolla Cliffs Ca? If so were there any no trespassing signs to be able to walk out onto the cliffs. I will be there on the 29th. At one time there were signs posted but no agency was mentioned and was considered a business/bureaucracy scam by the locals.
There are some warning signs for the cliffs to check out the pelicans, but most of the photographers pretty much ignore them. The seal area is a little north of the cliff area, and though there are still warning signs to not startle and keep your distance, they no longer prohibit going down where the seals are. Now is a time you need to be extra careful though, because it is getting close to the time they start giving birth to pups.
