Mitch, I like your creative thinking. I do think that the front bird seems to be more integrated in the water, the back birds seem placed on top of the water. I'd either give it some more room on the sides or make the birds smaller if it were mine. These are all just suggestions and they may or may not be helpful for you to achieve the look you want. I like how you made the birds smaller in the back and the sun and sky colors are gorgeous.

This needs more work. I had the "toy" theme in mind and wanted to try to incorporate it with a recent wonderful sunrise. (in my area we have great winter views of sunrises, but no view of sunsets). I agree that more room to the sides would be good, as well as better blending. I will work on it.

I looked at the thumbnail and was under-impressed. Man am I glad I looked at the image full size, what a difference.

I agree with everything Denise said about the image. And want to add my own "nice OOTB thinking" to this one.
