Light is fading fast, you're up 3 stops(?), bet you were wondering how much longer the light would hold for you?? Taking down an old buffalo can take a while.
Tom
Ahh.......................thanks for the observation, even though I have mentioned the light situation quite a bit.
.........And the image itself Tom?? :2eyes2:
The tension builds. Like how they're both moving in the same direction, shadowing each other. Just a tiny bit of lightening under the buff's left eye to help it stand out more.
Great action image splashes and interaction make the image...IQ looks much better on this one than yesterdays. Looks like you had a fantastic time there, I really want to go and visit, it looks like a great place for photography.
Marc, so far I like this the best. Really focussed action, love the sprays of water and the lioness's tail flipping around. In fact, this would have been interesting even without the lioness in the frame. What an experience.
I'll say one thing, doesn't seem to matter where you go Marc, you seem to get a 'series' of great interest. Well done. :bg3:
Love the action Marc and the water splash add nicely. There is some motion blur which I like :S3:
Marc,
Very nice indeed, but probably not for the Bufallo:cheers::cheers:
The tension is really building up in this one Marc, the posture/pose of both animals is good and the water movement, splashes, spray all add to the drama. Both Steve & Dumay have made some good suggestions & observations.
These situations are incredible to witness and because of the sheer size of these Buffalos, how many lions it takes to take one down, or not. :w3 I guess we will have to wait for the next instalment.

The question I keep asking myself is how well does it work as a "stand alone" image?
As part of the series, story, sure, it is great.
But I can't decide how well it works on it's own, as it's own, context. That is, if it were all you had and knew. You know what I mean?
Like compare it to Pt4, Pt4 easily stands alone.
Guess maybe I worry too much :S3: .
Tom
Marc - for me this absolutely works on its own. The pov/perspective is perfect for the viewer to be another member of the pride ready to join in. The tension of the moment is well conveyed and I like that we can see the expression on the buff and that he is clearly going to make a stand (at least to me it looks like he's ready to put his head down and try to butt the lioness). Well done!
TFS,
Rachel
This is a very exciting image in a great series, Marc. The concentration of the interaction is just intense here. Bumping the ISO was a great move. Very well done!
Best of the series thus far for me, Marc...and for me it definitely stands alone! :bg3:
The sharp buff contrasted with the motion-blurred lion adds a lot. Processing also looks good to me...
