Mitch, I think the centered bird works well here with the balance of the bamboo? Nice use of the flood. I have to get that filter out and dust it off:t3
It looks like a good base image, Mitch, and I like the Flood filter on this one. I like the patterns of the bamboo(?) and I think this would look great on it's own also.:S3:
Love the bird, comp and reflection, Mitch. The lighting is just wonderful. I haven't worked with this filter and was wondering... given the angle and lack of shoreline... is it possible to cause a flood/ripple that goes a little past (behind) the bamboo and recedes or looses focus a little bit farther in the BG? Maybe do a second copy with the flood set higher and then mask back the bamboo? Or maybe just a little cloning/blurring would take your illusion to the next level. Just brainstorming here. :S3: In any case, I enjoy the artistic flow of this flood!
Nice base image of the little guy. Some of the native Floridians I know call these "butter butts", which cracks me up.
The flood filter works well here. I like Steve's suggestion a lot too.
Steve, I've been curious about Flood for a while, but I hadn't thought about what you proposed. It was such a great idea, I downloaded a demo version of Flood a few minutes ago. Sure enough, they explain in the pdf manual that accompanies it just how to do what you were talking about. They didn't explain how to make an irregular puddle instead of having the edge of the water go horizontally across the screen. But -- now that I have the demo -- I'm going to work on that.Quote:

Thanks for your comments. The bamboo is actually just common Phragmites grass. It looks a bit like bamboo because the bird was so small that he makes it seem thicker than it is.
