Got off work a little early yesterday and managed to find this buck harassing a couple of does. 7D, 1-400L, f5.6, 1/400s, ISO 1000, +2/3 EC, HH, full frame.

Steve,
Very nice, is this from Rocky Mountain?
Excellent result here Steve, you should stay off work more. I like the leaning-forward pose, also the fine detail on his face, eye and fur, and that dark background sets off the antlers very well. A good result at high iso..
cheers
Grant
Do you have a noise reduction plug in? As I can't go near this high (not over 640) with my 7D.
Agree with all the above, love the thick neck of a rutting buck. Nice selective sharpening as well ( just guessing as it looks like it)
Nice job

Steve - nice pose and detail. I'm also impressed with the high ISO results you're getting with this combo.

Thanks for the comments.
Ken,
Not taken at Rocky Mountain (Arsenal?), just hiking some foothills near home.
Stan,
No plugins. Convert RAW with DPP, touch up with PS Elements 3.
Nice image of this buck Steve, with your techs well handled.

Steve, very nice image of a fine specimen in full rut. Good detail, posture , and a pleasant BG in nice light.
Very nicely done indeed
