Who has best AF availability / performance when using a TC? Canon, Nikon, or other?

Scientifically there is likely a clearcut "winner", but in real world situations and various degrees of user experience / ability the answer is actually quite blurry and variable. Sorry for the generic answer!:S3:

I'm a Nikon shooter and I can tell you Canon's AF performance is much better at apertures smaller than F5.6, I mean it was(1D-X:w3).

Great answer, I do not like to use TC, but then I never use a tripod.
