Hi Mitch, Nice use of the Simplify filter, the image has a great mood and I like the muted colors.:S3: I do wish the houseboat weren't in the upper top corner but you did great job with the comp.:S3:
Great composition and use of Simplify. I also like the way the image gets heavier towards the bottom in terms of the background color tone and the size of the white elements. For me, at least, the houseboat works well in a number of respects. It gives a third white element. Each of them gets lighter toward the foreground, which adds to the feeling of depth. In addition, it stops the eye as it follows the bridge in the background. Very nice image.
Hi Mitch, I did a quick houseboat eviction on my side, and I liked it much better. Really simplified and strengthened an already nice composition. The house boat takes away from the the repetition of the motorboats, IMHO. Give it a try and see what you think. Nice serene feeling about it. Cool!
