I think its beautiful! Grain isn't always a bad thing...I think we've gotten so accustomed to wiping it out at all costs that we forget that it can add as well as detract from an image.
Denise, this works for me also. I would keep it. Love the colors and the bird's pose too! :S3:
I don't find the water too grainy. This is a keeper. With any luck, I might get to Ding Darling in December. I love the place.

This is lovely, Denise. The colors are gorgeous. I think it might need a little CCW rotation, and if it were mine, I'd consider cropping a bit from the bottom.
Definitely a keeper. I like how that gray band about 2/3 of the way up works with the blacks and separates the oranges. In my mind, the black at the bottom helps to ground the image and balance the silhouette -- especially because of the pose.
Love the simplicity of this silhouette composition, Denise. The light and color is beautiful.
Love the silhouette and the pretty golden glow on the water. I like the comp as is although a rotation as suggested might be good.
Beautiful silhouette, Denise. I don't feel the noise at all. The color is great. I too think the dark patch anchors the image. This is certainly a keeper!
Denise, the grain doesn't detract from the image to me. I like the silhouette and the pose. Especially like the upper golden band of water.:S3:
Hi Denise, silhouette's against colourful BG's always work for me - doesnt matter what the shape of the silhouette is - even better thats it a Heron. :w3 Im fine with the water as is.
Thank all!!:S3:
