I was working on this shot of a backlit dew covered grass seed head in ACR when I started going crazy with the sliders. When I took the 'darks' to -100, I ended up with this. :bg3:

Very striking, Ken. Given that OOTB is the only forum I frequent, here, I'm glad this is where you posted it. Backlignting is great stuff, and I particularly like how the stalk gradually disappears.
Ken, in many ways it's very striking...the backlighting, the dew, the subtle rim lighting on the stem...I think I'd tighten the composition, though, by cropping a bit from the top and about 1/5 from the bottom...and a bit from the right. As it is, I think there's just too much black space, and it overwhelms an image that has a lot of potential!
Hey Ken, I like it. Simple and clean. maybe just a tad of brightening of the stem of the stem lines, if it were mine.....but this works for me as is.
Hi Ken, this turned out quite well. I like that we can make out the entire stem. The black background really set this off. Quite striking!

I was to Sanibel this past week and when the birds decided to stay on the other side of the ponds and otherwise were not photographable, I decided to try this as well. Just started working on the images, so will have to see what develops. Like the concept though.
