Question About Hasselblad

Maybe in the next months im gonna have Hasselblad from the film season . It's a camera a friend of mine has it but she never use it , and she wishes to give it to me to have the camera a good home ( that was her words ) .
From the little things i know they are great cameras but as is not a digital one is not that usefull to me . I was told that this cameras can take digital backs and from film you can make it digital one .
That looks strange to me and i dont know if this can happen , what do you think about this could happen to change the back ? ... any idea ?

Hi Kostas- Hasselblad and other companies make digital backs that will fit film Hasselblads and do not need to be tethered to a computer. The catch is that they are not cheap!

Except for rapidly moving subjects, one can get medium format image quality (and even large format images quality) with a DSLR and making mosaics. I do large format photography (8x10 and 4x5 view cameras) but rarely use them any more because digital mosaics work so well.

Kostas, the Hasselblad is a great camera, but the digital backs run from $14,000 to $30,000 and you need some serious computing power to edit the images. That said, I would love to have the camera for doing transparencies.
