Memories of childhood...a visit to the pumpkin patch! 105mm, f/16@1/160. RAW image processed in LR; a bit of touch-up on a few pumpkins, and I evicted a few stray blades of grass. Added a light layer of Fractalius->Sketch1 and lowered the opacity on the layer for the effect I was looking for.

Nice work, John. The perspective gives nice diagonals, and having the stems in the upper left -- especially with their clockwise curvature -- is effective. Good job with Fractalius, too.
Just musing, here, but I wonder if part of this image combined with your corn stalk one would make a good composite.

Hi John, I like your light handed approach with Fractlius using just enough so the detail pops with more texture visible. As Dennis mentioned the diagonal flow adds to the images strength along with even lighting.
Nicely done!

Hi John...This seems to have worked well....Nice fractilius- sketch technique...I will have to give it a try myself!

I loved the pumpkin patch as well! I have two suggestions - take them or leave them...
First, I'd mask back 90% of the main pumpkin (the stemmed on just right of center) so it separates it a bit from the rest of them. You could also take this a step further and play with the masking of several pumpkins - fracting more on some and less on others and see what that does to the image.
Second, I'd play with the contrast a bit more...drop those shadows so they really have a tiny bit more punch.
Just some things to play with/think about. I do really like it as is...just find myself wanting a little more "oomph" to it.

Hi John, very nice work with Fractalius. The diagonal works very well with this group of pumpkins. Nice work!

Thank you for the comments and suggestions! Julie, I'm going to play with some variations...see what I can come up with!
