Brendan, Looks like you hit the jackpot with this sculpture. I love the multi-levels of color and patterns. The filtering is terrific and goes well with the design. I wonder if toning down or changing the color of the brighter (not that they are any where near blown-they clearly are not) glass on the right might make it more cohesive. Let's see what others say. I like the way you angled the comp.:S3:
Thanks, Denise, I think I will experiment with the colors.
I don't always "get" sculpture art, but I liked this one more and more as I photographed it. Amazing how the light plays off of it, and it changes and transforms at different angles. I could really see & appreciate the care, thought, and creativity that went into making this. Deanne Sabeck is the artist, and she has been working with glass as her main medium for over 37 years. Check out her work: http://www.deannesabeck.com/
Brendan, Thanks for the link. It looks like she has been very busy! I love this one too. I bet they are spectacular to see in person. Thank you for sharing.:S3:
Brendan, this is really, really nice. I love the composition and the colors. Thanks for the link - she's very creative:S3:
Brendan you NAILED the composition on this one...wow...it give the eye so much to take in and savor. If it had been mine, I might have punched the color or contrast - or both - just a smidge to accentuate the lines and rich colors...but that's a matter of personal taste, and I know that I lean that way so I may not be the best one to ask! :bg3: I really like this image....thank you for the link, what a talented artist!...I hope to see more in this series from you!
Thanks, Denise, Cheryl, & John. Here's a repost with suggested changes from Denise & John. I changed the colors on the one top section using hue adjustment and some cloning to make it harmonize more. Then added a little bold details in Topaz to bring out the lines more. I think it does look better.
Still not sure what the BG color should be.
Hi Brendan, this is very cool! I like both posts equally. Thanks for the link - she is very talented. Nice work with this one!
