Here's an adult Piping Plover from Sandy Hook in April. Another one in high sun. He was running so fast that he kept heading into the sun faster than I could change my position to stay up-sun of him (I don't move that fast on my belly.) Wish I had his other foot.

Hey Bill, the 1000 ISO is ok -- you got a great image. It's the -.7 EV that I forget for a white-breasted bird when I'm trying to keep up, and that's a much worse sin. Super job of catching this little guy and keeping the light under control. It really doesn't look harsh on my monitor. Would you consider lightening his eye ever so subtly?

Nice sharp bird and well exposed. Like the clean BG. Eye looks good to me. Love the raised foot. If it were mine, I may consider a slight saturation of the bird's body only.

Nice one, Bill! I like the low angle and the sharpness. Not crazy about the banding code in the title though! Too hard for a dummy like me to syffer!:e3

Like the great eye and the raised foot. Bummer that he was not up on the muddy ridge rather than sunken below it. The bird's head is angled slightly away from us....

Bill, I'm going against the grain, the eye to me looks a hair too light. Nice running pose and sharpness. "ISO 1000 (don't ask me why)" hehehe.:S3: Love the raised foot!

Nice bird and running pose - Agree with HA looking away and it would be ideal to not have those lines of water behind the bird? I guess why one keeps going back.

Thanks all for the comments.
Dan, sorry about the banding code.
Tom and Artie, I know the HA isn't ideal. He wouldn't listen to me.
Denise, you nailed it as usual. I did actually lighten the eye a bit, and was afraid I might have overdone it.

Very nice Bill, I like everything except for the eye which looks unnatural to me. IMO brightening the eye in birds that have dark eyes always makes the image look funny, I wouldn't touch it

Nice action Bill, the eye looks ok to me. I would have liked a little more head angled towards us. The BGD looks good and the raised foot adds to this.

I understand why 1000 :)
raised leg shows it was are not completely freeze down.
With 1/8000s SS and f/5.6 u still need s.speed than PIPL ..
You did well enough to take as much as you can :bg3:
