Great way to accentual the eyes. Great pic, and control of the image. Very powerful (IMHO).
Dave, this is a wonderful treatment for this particular image. I've photographed captive Eurasian Owls before, and they are incredibly beautiful, with haunting eyes...your image conveys that simple, powerful beauty. Great mix of stylized texture and detail in the feathers, particularly on the head; I might be tempted to darken or blur the BG, particularly in the LRC, just a bit more...nice work!
I think that black and white is a great choice! It makes the eyes really stand out. Excellent filter work on the feathers!
Nice work Dave! I have seen captive specimens before, they are very beautiful birds. The eyes are beautiful.
Awesome base image, Dave, and great job accentuating the eyes. Nice moody feel and strong graphic impact comp.
Hey Dave,
Good choice to convert to b/w to make those eyes stand out even more. Beautiful species. Agree with John on toning down a bit.
