Tripod leg stuck

I use a gitzo cf tripod, model # 3541. It has the nylon bushings. I regularly take it apart, clean and dry it, and re-assemble, no problem.
One of the legs is stuck and will not come apart. The leg slides in and out as usual, so I do not think that the bushing has popped out of its track.
Anyone else experience this and have any suggestions?

I am confused as to what you mean when you say that the leg slides in and out but "will not come apart."

Please try to explain.

I cannot extract the leg out of its sleeve. You know how when you take it apart, you unscrew the knob, and then pull the leg clear out to expose the bushing? Let me know if this makes sense.

If I remember correctly there is a little notch that needs to be lined up before you can take it out or put it back in. There are no other moving parts other than the carbon leg and the two bushing shells.

You are right Clemens. That is what has me baffled. The leg is functioning properly except I cannot pull it out after completely loosening the rotating grip, like I usually do, to dry and clean it.
