Topaz remask & simplify
Mitch, Nice job with the remask filter, that couldn't have been an easy extraction even w/ remask. I may have opted to bring the boat down in the frame a little bit more if it were mine just because you have two large subjects very close to each other and it makes the image appear center heavy, if that makes sense, Very beautiful colors and good eye to put this one together!!:S3:
Hi Mitch, nice job on this one! I really like how the two images work together. Good use of Remask! I agree with Denise's observation about the comp, but I also see that the sun reflection is right where the boat might go. Maybe just a little crop from the bottom?
Great idea Mitch. I like this one too. The colors and the mood are so different.:S3:
Great job with re-mask...I really like the re-post
Nice image and application, Mitch.
Fits this weeks theme, if you want to have Denise change the title to so indicate.
Like the colors and the detail of the image. Both are worth keeping! :w3
Hey Mitch,
I prefer the repost......mostly because the boat seems to fit the BG better. I do like the colors in the OP and I'm with Kerry on the bottom crop......or perhpas lightening the area where the water is dark? My biggest issue with the OP....is the boat seems to be floating.....as if it was cut out....make sense? I think a bit of work in making the transition to the water a bit more subtle will go a long way in making that one shine!
Hey Mitch,
Nice idea. I like the re-post better. I think the boat blends better with the b/g. Like the colors and placement of the boat & the moon. Good job with your execution on knocking out the boat with re-mask. Pretty intricate subject to do that with. I would probably play a bit with the blend if feature in the layers style palette, in order to blend the bottom of the boat with the water creating a smoother transition.
Help my out here. Cut out?
The repost wins, the boat fits much better in that scene.
Mitch only thing I find odd in the first image is the suns reflection in front of the boat, it would be blocked by the boat...but I like any image, where copying something (birds, trees, moon, etc) in takes place...Well done
Paul,
You are correct. The reflection in front of the fishing boat should not be there. Never thought about it until you saw it. I have to be more careful!
Thanks for your comment.

Capt. James,
I use the term "cut out" just to refer to subjects I intend to use with other backgrounds. Should I use another description?
By the way, I visit a relative in the Clearwater area a few time a year. One of those times, I would like to arrange one of your boat sessions. Where do you leave from?
Thanks.
Mitch
