Hi Don,
Seems very contrasty and saturated to me as well as having a little too much room on top and not enough below for my tastes.
Whites look about right and love the bird and fish together too :S3:
Paul :)
Agree with Paul's comments, also the IQ is lacking, not sure what caused it but must be the PP...Light loos a bit harsh but nice and even. TFS Don
Ditto on the IQ being a bit lacking. Otherwise, conditions well handled. Well done!:S3:
My sympathies on the INTENSE weather conditions you endured! A fine portrait composition with the fish and a nice water BG. I would like a bit more room on the right.
Don, whites look good, bird parallel is also nice and I am liking the fish as well. Was it possible to go lower?
As others have noted, the IQ does not look very good. Is this a big crop?
I'm at Doug/Jims flight photography workshop at Bolsa Chica this week, so I had the advantage of an expert looking at source image and posted image -- Doug Brown looked at the original -- Its sharp. His comment is "wet bird" - that always fools people. Colors looked fine (not over-saturated) on his calibrated macbook. Image is 90% of originalmage. No possibility of adding space to right - it was on a dike made of rocks, and an extreme out-of-focus rock was just to the right of the image. We'll look at the processing later this week to see if there is anything additional there.
thanks for the comments.
