I'm curious as to what you think about this shot.
It was taken from the boat passing the Island where 320'000 birds nest.
I have some close ups of this bird but I like this one better.
I hope you like it too.
Thanks for looking.

What an interesting, complex image, Karl. I like it alot as it give a strong sense of place. When I evaluate the frame, I think that the area of least interest is the blue water. An important element here is the wave crashing on the shore of the island and for that reason I would like to see less on the bottom and more on the top. (Or if you have no more on top, take a slice off the bottom)To be super picky, the partial bird exiting the frame on the right could go. Thank you for sharing this, it reminds me to see the big picture!

Very interesting image, Karl. like that one bird in the center who is separated very well and is at a good angle.
Agree with Grace about comp. Focus does not seem very sharp on the center bird though.

Hi Karl,
This is certainly different. I like the environmental feel to this picture but the center bird seems a bit OOF so I find it distracting.
I find the crashing wave takes the eye away from the birds and wonder what this would look like as a panorama without the wave.

What makes this interesting for me is the separation of thirds vertically within the image - green water at the top, birds in the middle, blue water at the bottom. I think it works well!
To make it even better IMHO, I would consider removing the bird in flight on the right side of the frame and possibly cropping slightly from the left to put the bird with spread wings a bit more off-center.
