Here's one that ran up too close to me. Cropped special to accommodate the fact that I had clipped his legs in capture. :S3: 1D mark IV, 800 f5.6, iso 800, f6.3, 1/1600 shot manual belly down in the sand.

Excellent exposure Herb, and just love the colours on these guys. Good to see his meal, and I like the eye level capture. Comp wise, I would move him back in the frame a bit, ( take a bit off the left ) and have a bit more space in front. Cool colour to the BG.

Cracking shot with food; the detail/color is incredible
Agree to near to centre, cant waiut to see more
Thanks for the comments guys. Here's an adjusted crop.
Well done Herb - exactly what I had in mind. :w3
Herb, nice light and prey always a bonus. I would love to photograph these birds some day.
I like the comp. in the repost but it seems oversharpened....note the strong halo above the head. The first post has some halo but not as strong as the repost.
Hi Herb,
Nice shot, agree with the over-sharpenend on the bird as you could see the halo around the edge of the bird.
First crop doesn't bug me and the exp looks good. Agree with the Halo and I feel the beak is over saturated. Some TLC and it will be great. Nice one Herb
Nice image Herb! I like the composition in the repost. I like the eye and the catch of the day. I agree with the repost being over sharpened.
