This Pin-tailed Whydah was flittering across the grasslands, and I liked how I captured this curvy flying pose. Taken in overcast conditions a while back

Wow! Stuart, this is fantastic. Very cool looking bird, and the pose and curve of that long tail is great. Like the touch of blur on the wing tip, and nice BG all work to make for a very pleasing composition.
Great capture, Stuart, and the title is very apropos. Everything is well balanced, and I love the way the tail has separated into 3 pieces at the end. This is so artistic.
Well captured,Stuart.Beautiful wing posture and tail curves. These little guys are not easily captured well.
I also like the bg and the HA.
awesome pose and a great BG Stu, IQ is not great but given the gear you were using one can't realistically expect much better, you did your part well!
nice one Stuart,great pose,nice BG.thanks.
Amazing, you certainly caught the moment and what a bird.
Beauty of a shot Stuart.. I love how you captured the fork tail perfectly. I photographed a similar bird that had yellow on its body in SA. not sure of the name, maybe you can help me out. :S3:
Love that tail! :S3:
Really great timing on this one, it's terrific!
This could have been a big time winner in my book but the softenss and lack of fine detail really hurt IMHO. Canon 100-400 is not a great lens for bird photography IMO.
Very nice mate...Takes some skill to keep these guys in the view finder never mind get a image like this...Ncely done!
Chad....I think you are referring to the Shaft Tailed Whydah also has a thin tail with yellow on the chest. Also have two other species but have broad and broader tails but thy have yellow around the head area.
Thank you all so much for the feedback and kind words. Always appreciated.
Hey Stuart. Nice capture. I'm enjoying that tail like everyone else. Love the contrast against that BGD too. :S3:
Stuart, loved the pose, that tail and BG is stunning beautiful. Your collection of this bird is superb.
Stuart, Great pose and background. Love, love ,love that tail! Nicely captured.:S3:
I love this bird. What a tail. Great comp and pose. Love his little legs. I don't own a big lens-just the 100-400mm so I really admire this shot! Most of my BIF's are from the 100-400 as well.

Thank you all for the comments and feedback.
Super capture Stuartbhai

Stunning image. Was prompted to do some research on the species.
It has quite a dark side, doesn't it?
Excellent capture here . The lines work so beautifull to accentuate motion !!!
Beautiful image Stuart! I like the setting and flowing tail.
