Hi Richard. I like the pose and comp you have here. I do believe it is overexposed though. It looks like the light was strong and an iso of 400 or a faster shutter speed would have helped here. The bird is turned away from the viewer slightly as well. It is a fine capture nevertheless.
Wonderful pose, and nice low angle, Richard! Nicely framed too. It does look like you lost some IQ under the wing, but still nice capture.
Good typical hunting pose by this egret, although I would have preferred the head turned our way instead. The rocks in URC are distracting IMO. Nice beach scene, but worth some more post-processing TLC...there looks to be some funky stuff going on in the shadowed part of the pluamage (little black speckles?) and there is also evidence of missed masking around the leg.
P.S. Good job getting low:S3:

Thanks all
Nice repost Richard, it looks much better to me without the rocks, nice suggestion by Daniel.

Thanks Herb, and Daniel I just knew the rocks should go then left them in lol
Incidentally the aforementioned speckly bits was due to Micro contrast being overdone in Topaz Detail
and my poor reading glasses

Good repost. It does not change the less than ideal harsh lighting conditions (and light angle)...but still a big improvement.:S3:
Thanks for explaining what those specks were!
