Certainly a nice goldfinch image with an interesting pose and behavior. I feel as if the subject is a bit large in the frame and I see some processing effects around the bird. (But overall, I like this alot).
Nice exposure and colors on this Allen. I agree with Grace, maybe some more canvas on top and bottom, possibly to the left of the bird. The detail in the dandelion and the smooth BGD is nice.
Wonderful shot Allen :S3:
The framing here is perfect for me. And I love the behavior and the perfect head angle. There is a smattering of clipping of the YELLOWS likely due to a bit of over-saturation. Adding a 25% Blue Photo Filter or adding some BLUE to the YELLOWs in Selective Color in the master file would likely eliminate the problem.
Grace, what sort of processing effects are you seeing around the bird?
Lastly, here is this fine image with the YELLOWs toned down a bit.
A terrific image what a pose great exposure and detail. I too see a tiny fringe around the bird and the stem, I think it is the use of selective sharpening, perhaps the mask is just a little too large. Normally I don't think this would be noticed but as there is quite a contrast between the subject and the background it becomes more apparent.
Excellent image!! Bird is a bit big in the frame for my taste but still excellent job!!
Thank you for your comments everyone...
Artie, I did increase saturation by 10% so likely need to back off that some.
I just don't see any fringing around the bird - maybe it is just me....I did selectively sharpen the bird but not the stem or thistle head.
very sharp, complex the opinion abot frame, great tip of Arthur abot use Blue Photo Filter.
