Beautiful shot Kaustubh. I love the colors and low angle. Nice and sharp and well exposed.
A wow from me Kaustubh, love the colours and open beak, not to mention how sharp this is TFS:cheers:
Another lovely image KD. Low angle, colors, sharpness, exposure all look good. I'm not sure what it is, but the eye looks a bit funky IMO. I'm sure the tiff looks fine though.
I was in Palo Alto a little while back and almost went to Shoreline Lake. How was it?
Very cool looking bird, great low angle, love the open mouth, feather detail, and beautiful blue water. Nicely done, Kaustubh!
The iris was just like that...a little strange, yes. Probably typical of the species? It was a lifer for me, so not sure.
Baylands is better for Avocets. definitely. Shoreline lake, I found better for Forster's terns in flight. And this small group of Scoter hens was hanging out pretty close to the shore. I had some success with Stilts as well there...but they were there at Baylands as well.
Only reason I went to Shoreline lake was that traffic was backed up on 101 so I took the earlier exit( coming from Sunnyvale where I was for work) and got this lifer duck :-) serendipitous.
Congrats on the lifer! Everything happens for a reason :S3:
It is a wonderful image with very nice feather details. Beak open is a bonus!!
Thanks for the info Kaustubh, you certainly made the best out of the situation!
Kaustubh, Excellent pose, specimen, details and low angle. The light is to die for.
Love it.
Love the open beak and the blue water, Kaustubh.
Another winner Kaustubh. IQ is impeccable as always
