Another rendition of a photo from the Alan Murphy workshop. This is a blue grosbeak and I really like the subtle rendition. The PB addition makes things interesting. The many adjustments in the oilpaint part add many variations. This is minimal. The original was posted on Birds last week.
A favorite of mine, but more are coming. It almost looks like an oriental silk painting.

Hi Steve, the image does have a oriental feel to it which is most pleasing. Good use of the filter along with the composition. It also helps to start with a strong base image which this is...Nicely done!

I love the effect on the bird's feathers and the leaves. Never a big fan of the textures but I don't hate it here :).
Please share a link to the straight image.

Steve, This is one of my favorites of yours too. I love the filtering and the way it affected the pods is so cool! Great job!!:S3:

I was just thinking yesterday that we need our own list of acronyms, TLAs, and FLAs (three-letter acronyms and four-letter acronyms). I think the moderators should work on that...
PB = Pixel Bender filter from the Pixel Bender gallery, usually the "oil paint" filter.
PBOP = Pixel Bender Oil Paint
Adjust, Clean, DeNoise, Detail, InFocus, Lens Effects (sometimes called LE), ReMask, Simplify - all Topaz filters.

Steve, great shot of the grosbeak and super processing! I love the setup and the pose. Very interesting things indeed happen with this filter. You should bookmark this one and bring it out next time we have an "Asian flair" theme. Blue, yellow, and red make a perfect triad on the color wheel. Very nice. :c3:
