The spectacular Black Dragon Canyon in Utah, photographed last week while unexpectedly driving to CA. Post processed with Topaz Adjust 4 - HDR (using single image) - might be too much for some, but a pretty dramatic rendition - much better up large.
Unfortunately all I had with me was my Sony Nex-5 with stock 18-55mm - must go back to shoot it properly:c3:

Hi Kevin, I don't think the processing is too much at all. In fact, I think it's pretty subtle. I like the play of cloud shadows on the rocks. I would crop away the bit of highway on the right and take a little from the bottom. Nicely done!
This is the landscape my parents loved! Rugged, subtle, beautiful.
I don't think you overdid the pp. In fact, I would bring out more of the reds and up the contrast to make it pop more. I, too, would crop out the road and the bottom, even though that eliminates some interesting elements--like that larger bush and part of the right hand mountain. Here is my quick rework as an idea for exploration. (I think I should have taken more off the right to eliminate that bare dirt area.) Hope you don't mind.
Kevin, Anita beat me to the crop idea, however I would probably not have cropped that much from the right since I like the corner look to that rock.
Thanks to all for the comments ... the more I look at the image, the more I want to go back and shoot it properly. I hate to chop the right hand side and loose the edge of the rock, but the road is unsightly. I may try a redo when I have some time.
