Nice singing pose, and good exposure on this black-on-white situation. I wouldn't have minded seeing the subject a bit smaller in the frame with more perch showing, but still good as is. The big reflection in the eye could be reduced in post just to make the eye look less "glassy". Overall well done!
Dave:
Excellent choice for this months theme.
Nice calling pose, well exposed, good details in the blacks for this bird.
At the risk of going a bit square on the crop, I would add a bit of canvas on the left.
The cat tail is interesting looking with the white areas, but I would consider toning it down a bit.
Cheers

Hi Dave, excellent exposure on those blacks, and well timed to get the open beak for the calling pose. Dave, if you have more cat tail, I would show more of that, as per Dan, and then you could crop a bit off the top. Make him sit higher in the frame.
Lovely Dave, like the open beak as well. Bright BG work but I would also tone it done a bit TFS:cheers:
You did well with the difficult exposure. Nice pose too.
Thanks for the feedback guys. Much appreciated.

Really nice Dave. I see you went for the 7D then :)
