Chris:
Good pose, nice shooting angle.
Looks like he could use a bit more sharpening, esp. the head.
Because he is of modest size in the frame, I might consider a sliver of a crop from right.
I would also tone down some of the fine specular highlights in the foreground.
Cheers
Randy
Randy, just to clarify would you lose some canvas from the right or move the Heron over?
Chris:
I would just remove a small amount of canvas from the right, and maybe even try a version with a bit off the top as well.
Randy
Good suggestions by Randy. I like the idea of a bit of crop from right and top and then bird's eye would be to right of centre in photo.
Nice pose.
Dave
Perfect shooting angle makes this. Good suggestions above.
Good low perspective Chris, and Randy hit the high points on sharpness and cropping from the right. I like his colours, together with the weed in the water.
If want to retain the aspect ratio you'll need to add at left if you remove from right, but I agree with the suggestion to place the heron further right of the frame. I also agree that the face seems soft. Nice pose and colours. Low angle works well, too.
Looks great Chris. The downsizing we spoke about offline has not damaged the image quality at all but remember that images may need further sharpening when using that process :S3:
Thanks for the feedback all, it truly is very much appreciated.
I guess the consensus is that a little more facial sharpening is in order and a trimming from the right side.
Paul thanks for the feed back and thanks again for the simple(but important to me) bit of help you gave me :S3:
Thanks again for the continuing support :bg3:
Hopefully I've addressed the sharpness issue.
