This one started when I spied the little finch sitting on this plant next to a creek (Placerita Creek) and there was shade behind him. It wasn't completely dark, but I lowered the level of the bg considerably during the processing, taking it a bit lower with each filter until I got it to drop out completely. Topaz DeNoise, Clean, Adjust, and Detail as well as a bit of Pixel Bender Oil Paint.

Kerry, One of my favorites of yours. My first thoughts were to tighten up the comp. but the more I look at it the more I like the negative space, I think it adds to the overall look. Nicely done.:S3:
