Excellent shot. Real nice detail, great flight pose, and the snail in its mouth really adds to this amazing pic. Well done.
Super shot Arash! Great look at the snail, excellent sharpness, nice habitat, and good eye contact/wing position.
Super flight pose and angle Arash. Thats a fair size snail, or are they all that big over there. :w3 Overall the Kite is sharp, and I like the soft light in this.
Hi Stu,
The kites don't eat just every snail, they only prey on the Apple snails which if I am not mistaken are one of the largest snails in North America. They can only survive where there is a large population of apple snails (that's why they are considered endangered in Florida).
The hooked-shape beak is perfect for snatching the snails out of their shell.
Hey Arash,
I've always loved your flight images but it seems like they are even better these days if that is possible. This one just jumps out with perfect contrast, color and clarity. Sorry if I sounded like a jewler there. (Smile)
Perfect subject to background isolation on this image...just enough BG detail so you know where it was but not enough to interfere...and the bird just pops in this image.
Like everything about this...especially the what looks to be soft light.
Superbly done. Gorgeous raptor with prey, perfect bg that hints at the environment without distracting. Superb details to boot.
Wonderful image Arash, the Kite contrast nicely against the BG which also gives a nice sense of were they live. For those interested Apple Snail are about the size of an Apple when full grown.
Fantastic sharpness and detail!! The bird stands out nicely.
Arash,
I used the link to your website. I'm impressed with the sharpness of your images. What is your primary flight lens?
Cool shot Brother, nice soft light adds well, loved the details and the snail makes it complete..
