I had been planning on submitting this photo of Sophie, my son's dog, since I saw the pets category listed, but she died today, so this makes this thread a special tribute to a wonderful friend for 14 years.
Used cutout filter in PS. the original had some lights and furniture in the background which I darkened to eliminate. To keep the fur on top "furry" without being darkened with the background, I copied some of her fur edge, rotated it, and pasted it on top of her. Had to cut/paste about 4 times to get the entire curve of her head. (this was more important when seeing this as a regular photo rather than this OOTB version).

Oh Hazel, I'm so sorry for your loss. This is a beautiful use of the cutout filter, though...it makes me want to reach out and rub her head.

So sad to hear, Hazel. Losing a pet is never easy. A very lovely tribute, and I like your use of the cutout filter. That's not an easy filter to get good results with, at least I think it isn't.

Lovely cutout tribute, with just enough definition of details. I know how you feel. We lost a 14 year old a few weeks ago.

It's tough when they go, but this is a very nice tribute for her, Hazel. I like the graphic simplicity of the composition and the peaceful pose.
