Sorry for not participating much lately. I've been real busy with work and all.
This is an old photo from the first Civil War reenactment that I had photographed. I used PS to make it into a fake tilt shift photo. Here's a basic tutorial for those interested, Fake Model Photography. And of course, I then aged it with a texture from Shadowhouse Creations and a vignette. :S3:

That is so freakin cool, Chistopher! They really do look like toy soldiers, and the combination of the tilt-shift effect and your aged texture works great. Thanks for the info and link, this is something I have wanted to try. Well done!:S3:

Christopher, I like the aged look to this photo and thank you for the link. I wonder if a little off the bottom might draw the eye into the scene more, nice line up with the horses.:S3:

Christopher, nicely aged! I agree with Denise on cropping a little off the bottom. It will bring more attention to the "soldiers" in the comp. Nice work! :S3:

Christopher, thanks for the tutorial link - I added it to the sticky. This is a very neat trick and I know I'm going to find a way to use it soon. :c3: Your usual super job on the aging takes this one out of the park for me. Nicely done!

Cool, Christopher! One of your best. I like how you isolated the subject with the fake tilt shift. I agree a slight crop off the bottom may add to the impact. I might even be tempted to crop the left up to the first full horse/rider (or clone out the partial figures) for a slightly different view. The lack of complicated components really draws me in to this image and your aging is over the top!! :5

Thanks everyone! I appreciate all your comments. I think you all may be right on cropping a little more off the bottom; I'll give it a try.

Well, what a clever idea! Good job making real look unreal. I like how the horses are lined up and how some seem to be coming up from a lower area. Beautiful aging work. I agree about taking some off the bottom. What is tilt shift?

Anita, tilt shift is a kind of lens that can move allowing the photographer to control the perspective in the image. It is primarily used in architectural photography, but it can also be used to give the appearance of a miniature scene. Thanks for commenting!
