I wondered if anyone had a recommendation about these. I'm thinking of buying one as a present for my CEO (spouse). Attributes I assume are important are screen quality including brightness, resolution, memory, aspect ratio, connectivity, ability to run different slide shows, and the list goes on. Any experience would be greatly appreciated.

I have a Philips which I've been very happy with. I'll try and remember to check the model when I get home. I haven't done a big comparison, though. Mine takes CF cards, so memory is up to you.

John - I've got a Pandigital that I've been happy with. It has a limited built in memory but takes a flash drive. Mine is a few years old so there may have been some advances since then.

I bought the Coby 10.4 inch (DP1042-1g) as a present for someone. During the process of preloading images, songs and videos before wrapping I though t it was so cool I ordered one for myself. The frame is pretty attractive compared to many and the 10.4 inch screen is nice compared to a 7 or 8 inch.
My only iwsh is that it would have a random option for displaying the images.

Thanks so much for the comments so far. I don't think my 33 year marriage would survive Bill's imaginative idea!
The ones I've looked at have up to 2 gb of internal memory which is enough for a lot of images. And some have the an SD slot but I doubt I'll find one with a CF slot. Yes a random option would be nice Doug. Some play music. in stereo. Some have WIFI but I'm not sure why, yet. I would like to have different folders of images on the memory so that She Who Must Be Obeyed could choose a theme at a whim- say family, flowers, or even birds, although I doubt that would happen.

John - although I don't have it in fornt of me I'm pretty sure that my Pandigital allows me to choose different folders and also to randomize the photos within the folder being shown. It also has a remote control. I got it as a gift a few years ago but I'm sure you can check out the features on their website.

I don't know if it is still available, John, but I just checked and mine is the Philips 10FF2. It's a nice looking 10" frame than can stand in either portrait or landscape position. It has (I believe) 2GB internal memory and can use either a CF card or an SD card and it has several viewing options (including random shows, fading effects, transitions, duration of image display, alarm clock, event reminder, auto on-off, etc.). The image quality is excellent (although I don't know the pixel dimensions). I have no idea what it cost as it was given to be by my local Philips Medical Service Rep. Oh yes, it also has a built-in rechargeable battery. I think you can save multiple different albums. Here's the manual.
