Captured at "the Bosque", this one was taken with my Digital Rebel XTi, which is now in the hands of my daughter. She's not a bad photographer! On this morning I had the 50D with the 70-200mm and the XTi with the 50mm so I could get shots like this as well as tighter ones. One of the most magical places I've ever been, with light like this just before dawn and just after sunset. If you haven't been there, find a way! The snow geese are just waiting for the first ray of sunlight to peek over the mountains, and then it gets really interesting! :c3:

Colors, subject, filter choice and resulting effect, are all excellent. I find the wide light colored band in the sky a distraction, but it could just be me. regards~Bill

Kerry,
Beautiful colors and composition... great use of effects. The whole width of the light colored band doesn't bother me as it seems to add balance to the composition though I might tone down the brighter part of the band directly above and to the left of the mountain peak. Beautifully done.

Wow, that is a beautiful scene, Kerry. The light is amazing and masterful work with the filtering. Like the rich orange-gold colors, and there's a nice contrast between the sharp detail of the geese, land and the silky sky. Almost has the feel of an HDR image.
From the stories I here about the beautiful scenery of Bosque, it seems like you'd have to work really hard to take a bad photograph! :bg3:
