Hi Folks;
Another nice warm day, 65F at 6:00 AM, 100 F now at 2:30 PM which has brought out 3 new birds this morning. A Phainopepla, a Red-tailed Hawk and this little Lesser Goldfinch which I took into free Fotosketcher to create an oil painting,

Hi Gus, I always like your bird paintings. Love the cute look-back pose, the placement in the frame, and the way the perch is situated. Would be nice to have a little more definition around the upper part of the eye and a little smoothing of the color transition in the bg. Very nice painting.
P.S. - we had some serious heat here a couple of days ago too!
Sounds like my kind of weather! I've been in Jersey too long!! Lovely painting. Good suggestions by Kerry. I like the composition and I always like the look back pose but the slightly tilted head adds some interest. Nice amount of the fotosketcher.
