Winter is finally losing its grip on our butterflies and they are emerging from their ice bound hibernation. These hardy insects survive the below zero temps because of a glycol like fluid (antifreeze) in their veins and this trait also makes them unattractive to most predators. Hopes of seeing them, later in the spring and summer, often go up in smoke as they all migrate north of the Arctic Circle on the 1st of April. Enjoy! :w3
