Just playing around in LR: Pheasant

Was thinking about HDR and the High contrast saturated portrait styles that are so popular today and decided to see what would happen.

To do this kind of thing in LR all you do is take the Recovery/Fill/Clarity/Contrast sliders all to 100. Move black point up somewhere above 50, boost vibrance and reduce saturation.

I think it is interesting/different..... What do you think?
I might pursue trying to do some realistic HDR type wildlife images (not like this)

Steven, I think it's fun and funky. I might tone down the grasses a little if it were mine. It's nice that you got the entire tail in!:S3:

I tried toning the grass down..it was either too bright or too busy (this version)....
I could do a selection and blur/lighten it I guess but that would require PS....

Very psychedelic ...:eek:...pheasant, colors are wild. I see what Denise means, I might start again mask and boost saturation in only the pheasants color...just to see what it would look like.....Good work

Love the effect on the pheasant's feathers, Steven. The colors and details are just awesome. I agree that the BG grasses are rather busy; I think it would be worth taking the time to blur them a little.

Ok, I did a bit more work to separate the background...
I tried to make the blur somewhat realistic (i.e. keep a focus zone), don't know why....

Basically did a selection of the bird then copy/pasted to new layer. And made the exposure/blur adjustments to the original and flattened it again.
