From our workshop at Eastern State Penitentiary in PA. I used Nik Silver Efex and a layer mask to process this one. This may be a little over the top with the processing but I think it fits the subject.:S3:

I think the processing looks great with the touches of color and I love the edge!
Wonderful processing, Denise! Great effects and the edge is perfect.
That is one scary looking place ~
Great use of processing to enhance the dark & stark mood of this place, Denise. Edge is nice touch. I think I would hesitate getting my hair cut here! :t3
Wow! The light from above is amazing! Is this HDR --> B&W... and did you selectively bring back the color? Perfect! :5
Excellent, Denise. I love those colored stains on the wall. Beautiful processed.
Really nice framing Denise, I love the way you subdued the wall colors in order to pop the chair a bit. This is very cool.
Steve, Sorry, I should have been more descriptive in my explanation(multi-tasking:t3) This was a 3 image HDR that was processed in Nik HDR Pro then I used Nik Silver Efex for the conversion and I used a layer mask to reveal the red chair and some green on the walls, etc. The preset filter that I used in Nik Silver Efex applies the border(I think it is the only preset that does) that you see. One way to set this up w/o the border is to add some canvas to the image before putting it thru Silver Efex and crop it when it comes back into Photoshop.
Thank you all for your kind comments. It was a lot of fun and Nick Palmieri was a great help at the workshop.:S3:
Incredibly cool Denise! Love the processing on this one too and the moss/algae on the walls. The others you posted on your blog with this grunge look were awesome. Definitely going to have to check this place out someday! It does look kinda scary too - makes me glad I don't have to go see the barber anymore :S3:
Very nice processing, Denise. I love the old, textured edge. Could the chair perhaps use a little sharpening? Well done.
Andrew and Christopher, Thank you. I appreciate it. Christopher, I added a little softening to the entire image.:S3:
Very cool work Denise. I think I would just let my hair grow long... :c3:
I like the treatment you gave this image. I've seen many photos of this particular chair. Your version is different. I like how it brings out the decaying quality of the room. Well done!
Kerry and Anita, Thank you. I appreciate it.:S3:
