Anyone else have trouble with the Fractalius upgrade? I downloaded and installed the update and now the filter is gone from the filter list in CS3. I sent John Redfield an email and explained what happened, and the fact that I could re-install the original version and it works fine. Here is the reply I got:
"Our plug-ins work fine both with Windows XP and with PS CS3.
Thank you."
Not very helpful. I run XP on my Mac using Parallels, and have never had a problem with anything working. The same update works fine on my MacBook Pro, but my iMac doesn't seem to like it. No idea what the difference might be so thought I would ask if anyone else had a problem.
Thanks! :c3:

Kerry, I had no problems with the install on CS4 and CS5. It works fine. I am assuming you are using 32 bit version of Photoshop (not sure if there was 64bit for CS3). What you may want to check if the Fractalius is in the correct plug-in directory. It could be that installer is installing on a different plug-in directory than the one set for CS3. Navigate down to the Adobe Photoshop CS3\Plug-in\Redfield or similar path. If it is there then it should work. Alternately try to search for the file, locate and then manually move it under the default CS3 plug-in directory. Restart photoshop and it should show on the filters.

Thanks guys. Indranil, I've done everything I could think of except for taking the installed file from my laptop and putting it in the plugins folder. The file is definitely there and I tried the technique on John's web site, which is to open PS, run the installer, then restart PS. It just doesn't get recognized as a plugin. Frustrating for sure, especially since the original version works fine if I re-install it. :2
