I used the good old fashioned selection tool in PS. I created the gradient on a separate layer and then masked in my palm tree. The BG bottom was cluttered. I used several layers at reduced opacity to create the top area and then finished off the image w/ Flaming Pears Swerve.

Very creative, Denise. I love this fish-eye perspective of the tree. The gradient bg is beautiful but the flaming pear effect takes it over the top!
