Checking feeders Saturday afternoon caught this one sleeping off to the north behind the barn. Using the Spruce tree to block the wind. 1DmkIII on 500 f4 hand held, ISO400, 1/400, f6.3, manual. 50%crop, clean up branches in BG - Not sure it works- Bob
Looks good to me, nice exposure and detail. The left eye being slightly open really adds to the image.
For me it is too tightly cropped with subject centered left to right. I would have tried to get the owl more to the left.

Nice to see the owl in the open. Agree with Joe on the placement/crop. Coul doyu or did you move to your right a bit for more images. Nice exposure. Well done.

Bob, If you have room on right go for more there and crop some from left. If not room on right, just do the left crop. Some more sharpening would be good too. I too like that one eye slightly open.

You have a lovely subject here and the right idea, but think this capture would benefit from more room all around and some sharpening.

This shot has potential. As presented here, though, the owl is too tight in the frame; why not give the tree more equal time? I'd also sharpen it.

Bob, You sure had a nice find. I think by applying the suggestions above, you will have a super image for your collection. I enjoyed this image.

I can only aree with the comments on more space and sharpening.
