Earth, Wind, Fire & Joy!

I don't even remember how this started, but it went on for hours. I was trying to learn how Ken & Steve do those fantastic flips, and then I just started experimenting with all kinds of filters. The main ones were PC, twirl, wave & glass. When I reached a place were I wasn't sure where to take it, I would just blacken one half of image and Flip, PC, & Twirl.

I began using the mixer brush & smudge tools to work different areas, going in an abstract direction. It started to give me the impression of the dynamic forces of nature that sculpt the earth. I love the give & take of the creative process - sometimes the art works you, and sometimes you work the art - it really is such an enjoyable adventure :S3:

( I'm not sure if this qualifies for the theme, but it does have some red in it!)

Brendan, Very cool effect and very,very creative. I love the mixture of colors and softness. Just great!!!!:S3: I might make the black frame a hair thinner if it were mine.

Nice abstract work Brendan, and a great example of what you can do by experimenting. Looks like some really fun painting. I agree about the border, might make it a bit smaller. I'm really curious to know what the original image was. :2
