Hi All,
Hope everyone is staying warm this winter. I played with this Barred Owl photo that I took a few years back.
I like the photos posted here with textures and I thought I would try one.
Started in Topaz to get a drawing effect. Then to Photoshop CS5 for some textures.

Greetings. I like the graphic look which brings out the detail of the owl. The lighter color vignette, though, gives the feel of looking through a frosted window which is less appealing to me.

Hi Janet, beautiful composition. I like the effect on the owl and the framing with the tree. I am undecided on the lighter vignette; it seems to draw the eyes away from the owl, IMHO. Let's see how other feel. Excellent work and TFS.
Janet, It has a nice wintry feel to it. I like the way you set this one up. If it were mine I mine try to blend the large area of color on the branch as it catches my eye. Nicely done.:S3:
Nice work Janet, I like this. The colors and textures work very well together and I love this pose. The vignette doesn't bother me but I would usually vote for a darker vignette to keep the eye from wandering. Your treatment works well because the vignette isn't too light, just a little bit lighter than the subject. Show us some more! :c3:
Hi Janet, wonderful work and capture. These owls are my favorite owls, I see and hear them often during the summer months near Parry Sound, Ontario.
Beautiful work, Janet. I love the texture, details, and color toning. I don't mind the vignette. Since the lightest part of the image is right around the owl's head, I find that's enough to keep the focus on the owl. Well done!
