Folks,
Greetings. This (believe it or not) began with a the feather detail of an egret's wing. Some brushed in color, DAP Klimt, Mini-world treatment, stroke-blur, and a manual version of a 3d trick called hill shading and... voilā!

Michael, I am impressed with what you have been able to do with the DAP Klimt. Really great stuff and I need to dust my program off soon and join the fun! I love the colors and it reminds me of a planet.:S3:

Looks like a globe from another world. I am unsure of the framing of the circle itself as the framing is different at the four spots where the circle gets near the square...

Michael, this is so well done. You really are a master of Klimt - I find him very hard to achieve anything approaching your work. I've got to go back and read your earlier posts to glean some tips:S3: The transformation from feather to other-worldly planet is amazing.

Well, thank you... you are too kind. For me, there is just something about the DAP Klimpt filter...it's wonderful. And the neat thing about DAP is the IQ of the original input image need not be all that great as for this one, a 907 x 372 pixel crop:

Used a soft brush to just add the color and DAP Klimpt with no masking at all for the bottom result. I probably set the minimum brush size down a bit maybe to 200 or 400. And I play around with the different palettes. It's time consuming but I often make 4 or 5 DAPs with various filters and play blending games and adjust colors & detail with the original in PS (great fun :bg3:). I'm finding portraits particularly fun to work this way.
They are extra cool (I think) at full res and 100% viewing, too :bg3:
